The holy grail for takeaway pizza 🍕 and they’re still relatively new to the scene.
In every corner of THE WORLD there is a STORY.
📍 @attaboy.pizza in Byron Bay, NSW
Rob Pearson fell in love with making pizza while working as head chef at @ciao.mate in Bangalow. Yet with only half of his time actually spent cooking them, he naturally wanted to do more.
“I wanted to focus just on pizza and I think the outlet for that was takeaway,” said Rob. Backed by the support of Ciao Mate’s ownership group, that desire became the exact catalyst to open Attaboy.
The menu shifts throughout the day to reflect that singular focus. From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the shop serves up massive 20-inch New York-style pizzas by the slice. Then, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, they switch to whole pizzas, offering a smaller New York style and a deep dish Detroit style.
“I want to put so much love into the dough,” said Rob. “And I want to create flavours that the public understand as well, without going too rogue or too cheffy.”
By stepping away from traditional restaurant dining, Rob established a much more approachable atmosphere. “You’ve got a front that is definitely a takeaway shop and priced as a takeaway shop. I want it to be casual. And I think if it’s this fun environment, it translates into the food as well.”
